The Through Hull Connector takes the tether connections, signals from the sensors and power to the motors through the pressurized hull of the ROV. I think that the OpenROV idea of potting (sealing with resin) the wires through the hull is beautifully simple.
With the better resin the connector is now sealing.
I also hope to try potting some 2.4mm silicon bronze TIG welding rods I have run a die over to thread the surface using the 2 ton epoxy resin. This method would require more connections and might give the sea water more places to enter the wire but would allow the wiring loom to be repaired without remaking the connector.
